Gold Shaker Birthday Card with Sequins and Free Shipping Ends today!

I started off with the above sketch, but diverted a bit....Flipped the sketched, changed the rectangle to a deco label shape, and made the flag really short (hello banner punch - don't have one yet? you can order one June 1 in the new catalog)

What do you think? I stamped the Sale-a-Bration "See Ya Later" in versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, and used gold sequins to make a deco label shaker card. I didn't think I need the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, well, I love it! It may be gone June 1, so get it while you can! This card was too much fun to make, and it's even more fun to play with.

Here's an action shot of the shaking fun:

The card came together pretty quickly once I knew I wanted to make a shaker card with gold sequins. But I obsess over the finishing touches...I couldn't decide whether or not to leave the gold frame off the card (look below to see how the card looks without the gold frame). But the Stampin' Pretty Pals to the rescue - posted the two to our facebook page, and they unanimously voted on the card with the extra gold! What do you think?

Next week I'll make the matching envelope, lined with this gorgeous vellum. Now I'm off to restock on Stampin' Up! basics while there's still free shipping!

A Baby Boy Bitty Banners Boat Card

I swear the tongue twister title wasn't intentional! It just ended up that way :-)

I made this card using the MFTSC172 sketch below. I love the sketch and how this turned out!

Here's a close up of some of the details...I used Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and coordinating framelits, the retired Cloudy Day Embossing Folder (on sale, get it before it's gone!), the retired "Moving Forward Stamp set," Pacific Point cardstock and ink, and real red cardstock and ink. The silver brads are the finishing touch. I stamped the sail boat twice, once in red, and fussy cut the red sail and flag and added it to my blue boat.

Inside, I stamped "Congratulations," from Sassy Salutations (I love this set, can you tell?)

And a matching envelope with my handy envelope punch board and some pacific point dsp.

Remember, free shipping starts tonight at midnight mountain time! And the retired list comes out. Get your favorite Stampin' Up goodies before their gone!

Chopped, Hello Sailor and a Doily

One of my uplines, Lisa Pretto of InkBig, started a "chopped" card making challenge. She mailed me the above contents, and I had one week to put together a card using at lease a portion of all the items in the envelope. I was stumped. Very Vanilla, Bermuda Bay, a black circle, and a doily! Especially the doily. That doily got me. What would you do with these items?

I played around with the pieces a bit, then with the help of a sketch, (The Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 215), I came up with this:

Can you find the doily? I'll give you a hint, I embossed it with silver embossing powder and used only a portion of it...

I used a white gel pen to add stitches to my Bermuda Bay rectangle.

Blackboard Thank You Card

I made this card a couple weeks ago for my 4 year old's teacher. It was a quick and easy card, and such a fun result. My son's teacher kept touching the "blackboard," checking if it was the real thing. I CASEd this card from Diary of Two Crafty Girls, just changing it up a bit (adding an eraser, etc).

I made the card by stamping with White Craft ink on black cardstock, and when the ink dried, rubbing my embossing buddy over the cardstock to get the look of a chalkboard.
