It's been a while since I posted. I've been sewing a lot, and I've been making cards, but they've either been almost completely CASEd or using primarily non-SU products.
As a hobbiest demonstrator, it doesn't look like I'm going to meet my minimums this quarter :-(. So I'll probably be "retiring" at the end of the month.
I signed up a demo almost a year and a half ago in July. It's been fun!
Here's a link to my new blog where I will keep sharing my crafts, SU and otherwise.

Happy Birthday for Muse challenge 90
I've been CASEing a lot of cards lately, but finally got some creative energy, and loved the Muse Inspiration this week. I've wanted to play along for a long time, but this is my first time playing. It was a lot of fun, I'll be playing again! Here's the fabulous card by Marion Vagg.
And here's what I came up with:
I was going for the neutral effect with a pop of bright, but looking at the card now, I kind of wish I used brighter colors. I used the triangle screen from MFT and the happy die and happy everything stamp set from Whimsy. The happy was cut from textured cameo coral Stampin' Up cardstock (retired). The birthday was stamped with Basic Gray craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder, but sadly looks very dull, despite the embossing :-(.

2 Wine Bottle Toppers
I loved this week's MFTWSC sketch and just had to play along.
This is what I came up with using Let's Toast Dienamics as my starting point:
Here it is on the wine bottle...
I had a bunch of leftover banners and some dieout letters (retired billboard sizzlet) that I let my 5 year old son assemble on this second wine topper...

Mustache Shaker Card
This is the second of the "romantic" birthday cards I put together at request of my son's teacher. The first I posted yesterday. Which would you choose?
The layout of this card was CASED from Shannon Jaramillo . I already CASED her card exactly here, but loved it so much I decided to change it up a bit. To make it more romantic, I changed the coloring to black and white, and made it into a shaker card filled with some red hearts.
Here's the card in action.
Here's the matching envelope.

Musical Circle Thinlit Birthday Card
Someone asked me to make her a "romantic" birthday card for her husband. This is one of two cards I put together for her to choose from.
This card was CASED from this card by Dawn. I've used a couple vintage Stampin' Up! sets for this record card: "On Your Birthday" for the sentiment and the Music Notes Wheel for the background.
These inside sentiment is from a set from MFT called Sunny Day Doodles Love it. It fit perfectly on the inside and went along with the "romantic" theme. I wanted to subtly color it in red, but I was missing the coloring tools I needed (a watercolor pen or a blender pen would have worked...).
I'll post the next card I put together for her tomorrow. I would love to hear which one you would choose.

Chalkboard card using hardwood
I made this card for my 5 year old's teacher. The card was inspired by the dozen's of chalkboard cards all over the web.
This was my first time using the hardwood background stamp (even though I've had it for months), and I LOVE it. I'll have to play with it again soon. The apple is from the retired perfectly preserved stamp set and framelits. The little stars were from a sale-a-bration set from last spring.
The "A is for Awesome" is from the Smarty Pants stamp set by Whimsy Stamps.

Mustache Birthday Wishes
This is an almost exact CASE from Shannon Jamarillo. I actually sew her card and had to buy this stamp set, dsp, and die, just to make this card!! I made it a few weeks ago, but didn't get a chance to post it till now...
One thing I did differently was to layer a few dies cut mustaches (instead of propping one up on dimensionals).
This was such a fast, easy card to make. And I love the result!
